Our C.O.N.E.S. program can notify communities of criminal activity, provide crime prevention education, and cultivate a working relationship with the public. We use C.O.N.E.S. to author and send emails and educational information to geographically selected portions of the community. C.O.N.E.S. is a very effective way to provide crime prevention information to the citizens of particular neighborhoods experiencing new crime.
The C.O.N.E.S. program is relatively advanced in that we use a new mapping system to target the neighborhoods. We first take the county and draw the geographic boundaries to reflect the differing areas of our patrol areas and defined geographic neighborhoods. When you register to receive email alerts the mapping program will automatically place you in the proper geographical area. With this seamless method we can identify crime in an area and immediately route that information to you so proper prevention measures can be taken.
Another benefit of the system is that we tie you directly to an officer in the office. C.O.N.E.S. allow our investigators to author their own alerts. When you receive a message you can reply back to the officer who authored the email and develop a dialog for future crime information and community organization.
