At 12:45 PM on Friday, October 23, 2020, Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to Rice Creek Lane in Bessemer on the report of two people who had been shot. When they arrived on the scene, they found a male and a female who had been shot. The incident appears to be a murder-suicide. An elderly subject was also on location but was unharmed
There is currently no motive for the shooting. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Detectives are continuing the investigation.
