On Friday, April 24, 2020, at approximately 9:48 PM, Jefferson County Deputies responded to the report of a stolen vehicle with a 4 month old child inside. The vehicle was stolen from the 2600 Block of 5th Way North West in Centerpoint. The vehicle was a 2019 silver Kia Sorrento, bearing tag number 58B5N33.
Witnesses state that they saw the vehicle leaving the residence. As the vehicle left, it stopped briefly and picked up an unknown black male and then drove away.
At approximately 10:38 PM, Deputies were notified that a baby had been left on the doorstep at a residence in the 500 Block of 27th Avenue North West. The homeowner stated that she heard crying coming from the front porch. When she opened the door, she saw a baby lying on the doormat. The baby was not injured.
Detectives are still investigating this case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
