At approximately 8:15 on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, Jefferson County deputies received a call that an 8-year-old child had been shot in the 500 block of 27th Avenue NW in Centerpoint. The child has been taken to the hospital with what is thought to be non-life-threatening injuries.
