Just before 1:00 AM this morning Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 600 block of Bessemer Super Highway to investigate a shooting that occurred outside the Waffle House at that location. Upon arrival, deputies found that two people had been shot. Both adult male subjects were transported to UAB hospital, One is suffering from possible life-threatening injuries. The second subject fled the scene to the 2000 block of Bessemer Road, from where he was transported for his injuries. The two had possibly engaged in a verbal altercation at the original location, that escalated into shots being fired,
