On September 7, 2024, at approximately 8:26 p.m., deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5400 block of Livingston Oaks Circle, Center Point Alabama, to investigate a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 43-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Center Point Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and a male suspect were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. The suspect shot the victim and left the scene.
The suspect has been identified as:
Duchorn M. Clayton, age 33. The suspect has been charged with Attempted Murder, with a $60,000 bond, and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess A Firearm, with a $15,000 bond. Total bond: $75,000.00.
