Narcotics Seizure

On September 20,2024, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies, after receiving a tip from a U.S. Marshall Task Force Officer, conducted a traffic stop at the 1200 block of Woodslee Street, Birmingham, Alabama.  As a result of the traffic stop, the driver was arrested, and narcotics were seized.  Sheriff Mark Pettway stated, “This was a great apprehension and seizure by our Patrol Division.  Our deputies patrol the streets of Jefferson County every day understanding that our top priority is to keep our citizens safe.  In addition, we are grateful for the relationships we have with our federal partners.”

The suspect has been identified as: Donnell Leonard Hubbard, 31, of Atlanta, Georgia.  The suspect has been charged with:

Trafficking Marijuana – $500,000.00
Trafficking Cocaine – $500,000.00
Attempt to Elude, Felony – $30,000.00
Unlawful Possession of Control Substance – $7,500.00
Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – $500.00
Vestavia Hills Police Department charges:
Trafficking Cocaine $1,500,000.00
Trafficking Marijuana $1,500,000.00
Trafficking Drugs $1,500,000.00
Drug Trafficking – $999,999.00
Drug Trafficking – $999,999.00
Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia $3,000.00
Unlawful Possession of Control Substance $10,000.00
Total bond: $7,550,998.00.

Narcotics seized: 3 pounds 6 ounces of Marijuana and 26 vials of Cocaine weighing 58 grams

Additional items seized: 4 THC vapes and digital scales
