On Monday, December 2, 2024, at approximately 4:50 p.m., deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 400 block of Forrest Drive in Fairfield, Alabama to investigate a report of a person shot. Upon arrival deputies discovered an adult female victim, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Fairfield Fire & Rescue arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The victim has been identified as: Erykah Tate, age, 26.
The suspect has been identified as: Shazaria Williams, age, 28. The suspect has been charged with murder with no bond. Williams is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.
