At approximately 2:18 p.m. this afternoon, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 3810 7th Avenue, Brighton, Alabama (Brightton Community Center) to investigate a report of two people shot. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 2 adult male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Brighton Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced both victims deceased. There were no other reported injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that there was a funeral repass occurring at the Community Center when the shooting took place. The assault happened outside of the Brighton Community Center.
