On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle on Gadsden Highway and I-59 South. The pursuit ended in the 400 block of West Valley Avenue, when the suspect’s vehicle left the roadway and collided with a curb and a fence. Four occupants of the vehicle fled on foot; however, they were all apprehended.
Suspect #1 has been identified as: Juwon Poole, age, 19. Poole was the driver of the vehicle and has been charged with 2 counts of Receiving Stolen Property with a $30,000.00 bond each; Reckless Endangerment with a $15,000.00 bond; and Attempting to Elude with a 6,000.00 bond. Poole was also charged with various traffic violations totaling $2,500.00. Total bond: $83,500.00. The suspect is out on bond from the Jefferson County Jail.
Warrants for Attempting to Elude and Resisting Arrest are being sought for an 18-year-old male suspect and Attempting to Elude for a 19-year-old male suspect. A petition for Attempting to Elude for a 16-year-old juvenile male suspect is being sought as well. All four suspects were in possession of a handgun; two of which were stolen.
