Shooting at Bingo Hall

On March 3, 2025, shortly after 5:00 a.m., deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a bingo hall located at 5712 Chalkville Road, Birmingham, Alabama to investigate a report of a person shot.  Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male (employee) victim, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Center Point Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a verbal altercation between a male employee and a male security guard occurred.  The security guard shot the victim.  The security guard remained at the scene and was cooperative with deputies.
