Traffic Stop Leads to a Pursuit and Arrests

On Monday, March 3, 2025, deputies with the Sheriff’s Neighborhood Enforcement Team (SNET) and Center Point Patrol deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a White Jeep Grand Cherokee at 13th Avenue NW and 2nd Street NW. However, as a deputy approached the vehicle, the driver sped off.  The pursuit ended in the 4000 block of 49th Court Nort, when the driver hit a curb and left the roadway.  Both the driver and passenger fled on food.  Deputies quickly took the driver into custody.  Moments later, the passenger was located in the 4100 block of 49th Terrace North and was taken into custody without incident.

Suspect #1 has been identified as: Damonta Brooks, age, 28.  Brooks has been charged with Attempting to Elude a Police Officer with a $15,000.00 bond; Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree with a $5,000.00 bond; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a $5,000.00 bond; Receiving Stolen Property with a $15,000.00 bond; and Obstructing Justice-Using False I.D. with a $15,000.00 bond.  Total bond: $55,000.00.  The suspect is out on bond from the Jefferson County jail.

Suspect #2 has been identified as: Cameron Dejuan Blanding, age, 32.  Blanding has been charged with Attempting to Elude a Police Officer with a bond of $5,000.00; Capital Murder and Attempted Murder, both with no bond (The suspect was out on bond for Capital Murder and Attempted Murder.  Both bonds were revoked); and Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Vehicle with a $15,000.00 bond.  The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.
