Person Shot in Centerpoint

On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at approximately 2:20 a.m., deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 400 block of Tupelo Road in Center Point, Alabama to investigate a report of a person down.  Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  Center Point Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the incident was domestic related.

At approximately 5:42 a.m. an adult male suspect was taken into custody in the 300 block of 20th Avenue NW.  The suspect has not been formally charged at this time.
