On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the Jefferson County Vice and Narcotics Division, in collaboration with the Jefferson County SNET Team, and MACC Detectives, executed arrest warrants for a male suspect in the 3000 block of Wenonah Park Road SW, Birmingham, Alabama. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended without incident and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
The suspect has been identified as Vernon Lamont Christon, age, 46. He is charged with Trafficking Cocaine; Trafficking MDMA; Unlawful Possession of Control Substance; Certain Person Forbidden to Possess Pistol; Attempt to Elude; and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Christon is currently being held without bond.
Sheriff Mark Pettway stated, “This suspect has been eluding law enforcement for some time now. I am impressed with the patience of our specialized units and their collaborative efforts to pursue him and get dangerous drugs and a weapon from the streets of Jefferson County.”
Narcotics seized: 48 grams of Powder Cocaine, 4 grams of Crack Cocaine, 5 grams of Marijuana, 46.5 grams of MDMA, 5.4 grams of Methamphetamine, 5 suboxone strips
Weapon seized: FN 508 9mm Pistol
