Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Homicide in Brighton

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a homicide that occurred Tuesday evening in Brighton, Alabama.

At approximately 5:08 p.m. on March 31, 2026, deputies responded to the 4000 block of Bethany Avenue following a report of a person down. Upon arrival, deputies located a 21-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Personnel from Brighton Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide. At this time, no arrests have been made, and no charges have been filed.
