Sheriff’s detectives are conducting a shooting investigation after shots were fired in the parking lot of a church in Center Point.
Just before 9:30 this evening deputies responded to shots fired near a carnival in the parking lot of a church in the 1400 block of Huffman Road. They went to the area where the shots were heard and discovered two people with reported gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. A pregnant woman was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries she received when she was knocked to the ground by people running from the gunfire.
Five people have been taken into custody for questioning.
