Dispute between Store Clerk and Customer leads to serious Injury

On Monday October 14, 2019 at 2:37pm a customer at the Marathon gas station in the 1000 block of highway 78 called 911 to report that the store clerk had been injured.  Deputies arrived on the scene and found a man injured and down in the parking lot.  Witnesses told deputies that the man was the store clerk and that he had been in a dispute with a black female customer who appeared to be in her 20’s.  Witnesses stated that the store clerk followed the customer to the parking lot and the customer used her vehicle to hit the clerk.  The clerk was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.    The suspect is driving a gray Dodge Charger.  Evidence technicians are retrieving video surveillance from the store.  Anyone who knows the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
