Birmingham Man Charged with Three Separate Burglaries of the Same Home

On August 22nd deputies responded to a report of a burglary at a home in the 2000 block of Ruffner Road near Irondale. The victim reported that his home is under construction, but has reached a stage of completion that allows him to store tools and other items and to occasionally stay there. On this date, he discovered someone had forced their way into the home and stolen money and electronics.

On August 24th deputies went to the same residence to investigate a separate report of a burglary and assault. The victim reported that he was awakened by a black male suspect standing in his bedroom demanding money. He struggled with the suspect. The suspect struck him in the head with a handgun before running away empty handed.

On September 2 deputies again went to the residence to investigate a third burglary. The victim reported that someone had forced their way into the home and stolen several tools.

Video surveillance captured images of the suspects. These images were shared with local media. Detectives created a flyer with images of the suspects and distributed it to law enforcement personnel in the area of the crimes. A suspect was developed and found to already be in the Jefferson County Jail on unrelated charges.

Fabian Taylor

37-year-old Fabian Aaron Taylor of Birmingham was identified as the person who committed the burglaries and assaulted the victim.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants charging Taylor with two counts of Burglary 3rdDegree, Burglary 1st Degree, and Assault 2nd Degree. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
