A Birmingham man has been arrested for five outstanding warrants charging him with Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle.

Just after 9:00 am yesterday morning deputies responded to a report a car break-in at a business in the 4600 block of Pinson Valley Parkway. The victim reported that he had parked his truck in the lot at 7:00 am. When he went to his truck later in the morning he found the door open and his speakers and amplifiers had been stolen.

Deputies reviewed video surveillance footage from the business that recorded the theft. They then viewed video surveillance footage from a nearby business that captured images of the suspect’s vehicle and tag.

The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Marteze Dejuan Wright of Birmingham. Wright was found to have five outstanding felony arrest warrants charging him with other vehicle break-ins.

Deputies located Wright last night and arrested him for the outstanding warrants. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail with bonds totaling $153,000. Wright had been out on bond for other vehicle break-in cases. Those bonds were revoked.

Additional charges are pending for the vehicle break-in that occurred yesterday.
