Center Point Elementary School Lockdown Cancelled

Just after 1:00 pm today deputies responded to a report of a robbery at an apartment complex on 23rd Avenue NW in Center Point near the elementary school. It was reported that a black male with a red bandana covering his face had robbed a construction worker at gunpoint in the parking lot of the apartments. The suspect fled on foot along 23rd Avenue NW in the direction of the school.

Deputies arrived and established a perimeter to search for the suspect. Center Point Elementary School was placed on lockdown as a precaution while deputies conducted the search.

The suspect is no longer believed to be in the area of the school. The lockdown was lifted just before 3:00 pm.
