A body believed to be that of a missing 65-year-old Grayson Valley man was located about 9:45 this morning in a wooded area near Old Springville Road and Chalkville Mountain Road.
65-year-old David Paul Crumley was reported missing by his mother Monday evening when he did not return from one of his customary walks. Crumley was known to walk the roads in the Clay, Grayson Valley and Trussville areas for hours at a time. It was reported that he left his home in the 2100 block of Brewster Road around 9:00 am Monday morning. When he had not returned by 7:00 pm his mother contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report him missing.
Deputies and volunteers searched for him through the week using drones, a helicopter, and ATV’s.
Around 9:45 this morning, a searcher discovered a male body believed to be Crumley in a wooded area near Old Springville Road and Chalkville Mountain Road. The remains will be taken to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office for positive identification and to determine the cause of death. Foul play is not suspected.
