A death investigation is underway after a 47-year-old man was found dead inside a fenced area of a mining property near Oak Grove yesterday afternoon.
About 12:30 yesterday afternoon deputies were called to a mining property in the 8800 block of Oak Grove Mine Road. It was reported that an adult male had been discovered dead inside a fenced power station. A family member discovered him after he failed to return home the night before.
The body was inside a fenced area. There were wire cutters and pieces of copper wire nearby. Evidence indicates that he was electrocuted while attempting to take copper wire from the power station.
Family members reported that they had last seen the victim the night before when he left home telling them he was going to look for scrap metal.
Conclusive cause of death is pending the Medical Examiners report.
