Deputies Seek Identity of Theft Suspect

On April 30, 2016 deputies were called to the Dollar General Store in the 5500 block of Eastern Valley Road to investigate a theft. The adult female victim is an employee of the store. She reported that her purse had been stolen. She had placed it under the counter beneath the cash register. She told deputies that she had reviewed the surveillance footage and it showed an unknown white male reaching over the counter and taking her purse. The male suspect was accompanied by a white female. The suspect took the purse down an aisle and placed the contents in his pocket. While deputies were on the scene the victim learned that there had been an unauthorized charge to her debit card.

Detectives obtained photos from the surveillance footage. Anyone who recognizes either of the people in the photos is asked to call Sgt. Watkins at 205-434-9414.
