Just before 5:30 this morning a deputy was involved in a traffic accident on I-459 South near exit one.
The deputy was traveling south responding to a call when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the side of a flatbed truck that was traveling alongside him.
The accident is being investigated by the Bessemer Police Department.
The deputy suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.
