At about 4:30 this morning deputies were called to an apartment in the 2300 block of Raintree Ct in Center Point to investigate a report of a stabbing.
They arrived to find a 28 year old male suffering from a stab wound to his upper back. The victim reported that he had been arguing with his girlfriend because she thought he had been seeing other women. She asked him to leave. As he was gathering his clothes she stabbed him in the back with a kitchen knife.
The offender, 41 year old Nekita Ignacia Averette of Center Point, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence 2nd Degree Assault. She remains in the Jefferson County Jail with bond set at $5000.
The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
