Just after 12:30 this afternoondeputies responded to a report of a domestic assault at a residence in the 4800 block of Vernon Parkway near Grayson Valley.
It was reported that a 62-year-old man had assaulted his wife and her sister at the home. The suspect went outside to his car and armed himself with a handgun.
Deputies arrived to find him sitting in the car with a gun in his hand. The suspect ignored commands to drop the weapon and began waiving it around. A deputy fired a single shot which struck the suspect in the shoulder.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and will be booked into the Jefferson County Jail on related charges.
