Additional deputies arrived including a tracking dog. A perimeter was established and a ground search began. At about 5:30 the driver, 29-year-old Joseph Robert Watts of Dora, was taken into custody. The passenger was not located.
Deputies discovered that the SUV had been reported stolen in Graysville on Saturday.
Watts was taken to the Jefferson County Jail. He is charged with Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree, Receiving Stolen Property 3rd Degree, Attempting to Elude and Driving While License is Revoked. His bond is set at $5900.
