Driver leaves scene after hitting 6-year-old

On Friday March 25, 2022 at approximately 5:31pm Jefferson County Deputies were dispatched to the 5400 block of Saddle Ridge Lane in eastern Jefferson county on a report of a 6-year-old child being hit by a pickup truck.  Witnesses report that the child was hit and knocked off his scooter by a white male driving a black Ford F150.  After hitting the child the driver got out of his truck, checked on the child and then fled the scene.  The child suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.  Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for the driver of this truck.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450.
