Fatal House Fire

A fire at a mobile home has claimed the life of one person in northeast Jefferson County.

Just before 10:00 this evening deputies along with Center Point Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a report of a mobile home fire at an address in the 4300 block of Pinson Valley Parkway.

They arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. Once inside, firefighters discovered the body of an adult male victim. He was pronounced deceased.

Information at the scene is that the victim and two other people were able to get out of the home, but the victim went back in to attempt to put out the fire. He was unable to escape. There were no other injuries.

Sheriff’s detectives and the Alabama State Fire Marshal are investigating the fire.

The name of the victim is withheld pending notification of family members.
