Female Sex Offender Arrested for Working Near Daycare

33 year Old Ashley Hurst Casiday of Birmingham was arrested yesterday on warrants for Failure to Register Employment and Employment Within 2000 feet of a Daycare.

Casiday was convicted in St. Clair County, Alabama of Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child. She was required to register as a sex offender here in Jefferson County. The Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit received information that she was working for a magazine as an assistant publisher. She had not notified the Sheriff’s Office of a change in her employment status. Investigators discovered that she was indeed working at location under her maiden name and that the location was within 2000 feet of a daycare.

On May 3, 2016 arrest warrants were obtained charging Casiday with Failure to Register Employment and Employment Within 2000 feet of a daycare.  Deputies arrested her yesterday morning and placed her in the Jefferson County Jail. Her bond is set at $20,000.
