On Thursday, April 23, 2026, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives with the assistance of SWAT, SNET and other units executed two residential search warrants in the 1900 block of Francis Avenue SW.
During the operation, a 30-year-old male, identified as Jack Thomas was taken into custody following a brief vehicle pursuit. The suspect was apprehended without incident.
Jefferson County Sheriff Mark Pettway praised the coordinated effort and community involvement: “Great teamwork by our specialized units. We continue to receive valuable information from the citizens of Jefferson County. The information that we receive helps us to more effectively carry out our crime fighting efforts. My top priority is the safety of the citizens of Jefferson County.”
The suspect has been identified as Jack Thomas, 30. Thomas has been charged with Drug Trafficking, Unlawful possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree, Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Pistol, Felony Attempt to Elude and Felony Failure to Appear. Thomas is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
In addition to Thomas, four other individuals were taken into custody during the execution of the search warrants:
- Brianna Ross, 34. Ross has been charged with Possession of a controlled substance with a $7,500 bond. Ross has been released from the Jefferson County Jail.
- Evita Thompson, 42. Thompson has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Thompson has been released from the Jefferson County Jail.
- Vernicia Petway, 39. Petway has been charged with 2 Counts of Felony Failure to Appear and 2 Counts of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Petway remains in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
- Tiffany Kendricks, 36. Kendricks has been charged with Failure to Appear with a $600 bond. Kendricks has been released from the Jefferson County Jail.
