At approximately 7:22 AM this morning, deputies responded to 3620 Ave C in Fairfield, AL to investigate a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, deputies observed a 47-year-old male victim lying on the ground, unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. Fairfield Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
