At approximately 12:26 a.m. this morning, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Brighton Police Department to investigate a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that Birmingham Fire & Rescue were on the scene and had already pronounced a 28-year-old female victim deceased at the scene. The victim suffered from an apparent gunshot wound.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was driven to the Brighton Police Department for help after being shot at another location. The case is still under investigation.
