Homicide Investigation In Center Point

On Sunday December 6, 2020 at 9:01pm Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 1600 block of 2nd Street NE on a report of  gunshots and a man down. Deputies arrived and found a man in the middle of the street suffering from gunshot wounds.  Deputies attempted to assist the man but were unable to revive him.  Sheriff’s Deputies were able to determine that a dispute took place between people who knew each other just before the shooting.  Sheriff’s deputies interviewed several people and took one person into custody.  Sheriff’s Investigators processed the crime scene as they continue this investigation.
