Birmingham, AL 05/03/2018

Four men have now been formally charged with the kidnapping and murder of Darryl Thomas.

The body of Darryl Thomas was found on a dirt road near the old Lipscomb dump on May 1, 2018. He had been shot multiple times.

Four men were arrested by late that night and taken to the Jefferson County Jail to await formal charges.

This afternoon Sheriff’s Detectives obtained arrest warrants formally charging 24-year-old Cortez Clark-Johnson of Centet Point, 22-year-old Myzel Contest Arbuckle of Birmingham, 27-year-old Aeriol Lasean Barbee of Hoover, and 21-year-old Jalen McIntyre of Pinson with Capital Murder and Kidnapping 1st Degree. They are being held without bond.

The four men kidnapped and murdered Darryl Thomas because they believed him responsible for the Monday night shooting death of Carlos Gray at his home in Clay.
