Homicide Investigation *** UPDATE ***

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, Graysville and Adamsville Fire Departments responded to 529 7th Avenue SW, Graysville, Alabama to investigate a report of a house fire.  Upon arrival, they discovered a structure fire that was fully involved.  An initial sweep of the residence found an unidentified deceased male victim in the home.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to the scene.  Detectives along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office began to conduct their investigations.

On May 29, 2025, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office detectives made an arrest in the case.  An 18-year-old male suspect was taken into custody.

The identity of the victim is: Unconfirmed.

On Friday, June 6, 2025, Jefferson County Sherrif’s Office Neighborhood Enforcement Team (SNET) assisted the US Marshals Task Force with the apprehension of two additional suspects whose charges are related to the Homicide that occurred on Sunday, May 25, 2025.  An adult male suspect was taken into custody in the 10 block of Twilly Loop in Quinton, Alabama and an adult female suspect was taken into custody in the 100 block of Sullivan Road in Sumiton, Alabama.

Suspect #1 has been identified as: Jose Antonio Alvarado, age, 18.  Alvarado has been charged with Murder and Arson in the 2nd Degree.  The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.

Suspect #2 has been identified as: Vincent Wade Yarbrough, age, 47.  Yarbrough has been charged with Arson 2nd Degree with a $30,000.00 bond; and Abuse of a Corpse with $15,000.00 bond.  The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.

Suspect #3 has been identified as: Joanie Yarbrough, age, 44.  Yarbrough has been charged with Auto Theft with a $$30,000.00 bond; and Hindering Prosecution with a $15,000.00 bond.  The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.

The Yarboroughs are brother and sister.
