Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a homicide in the 500 block of 16th Terrace NW in Center Point
At about 5:45 pm this evening deputies responded to a report of gunshots being heard in the 500 block of 16thTerrace NW. They arrived to find a 23 year old woman lying on the front porch of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. She was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
The shooter fled the scene and is at large.
The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provide as they become available
Chief Deputy Christian: “The information we are hearing is the woman shot was at the home to confront someone about an incident that happened earlier today. Detectives are still questioning witnesses and sorting out exactly what led to this shooting.”
