Autism Safety & Sensory Decal
HOW IT WORKS
In recognition of Autism Awareness month and World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, 2026, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is providing FREE Autism Awareness decals for homes and vehicles. These decals help First Responders quickly recognize when an occupant may have autism, allowing for more informed, calm, and compassionate interactions during emergencies. In addition to the decal program, JCSO offers a FREE voluntary registration program. Families can provide critical information that will be available to Dispatch and First Responders when they are responding to a call. This ensures deputies have helpful details before they arrive on scene.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Emergencies are high-stress situations. This decal alerts deputies that a child with sensory sensitivities or communication differences may be inside, helping them approach the situation with awareness and care.
