BIRMINGHAM, AL – As the holidays approach, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to spread holiday cheer. Today the office will partner with Santa and Mrs. Claus to gift families in Fairfield with shopping cards to complete their holiday shopping. Today’s act of generosity is made possible by a citizen within Jefferson County who has asked to remain anonymous and instead wants the focus to be on providing kids within the county with a holiday to remember.
“It is because of community partnerships like this, that this county continues to thrive,” Sheriff Pettway said. “As a community, when we work together the list of goals that we can achieve is limitless. Allowing us to be a part of this thoughtful act of kindness is another example of what it takes to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community.”
