On Friday, March 13, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., detectives with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a possible AT&T cable theft in the 1400 block of Warrior Jasper Road.
While in the area, a detective observed a male suspect in a gold Impala traveling uphill towards a downed section of AT&T cable on the side of the road. Due to prior AT&T cable thefts in the area, the detective turned around to investigate. The suspect, however, fled the scene.
Detectives and patrol deputies conducted a search of the immediate area. The suspect vehicle was later observed traveling eastbound on US 78, where a traffic stop was conducted. The male suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jefferson County Jail. An electric cutting tool and other burglary tools were seized.
The suspect has been identified as Eric Millwood, 26. Millwood has been charged with:

Theft of Property, 1st Degree – bond set at $5,000.00

Criminal Mischief – bond set at $5,000.00

Possession of Burglary Tools – bond set at $1,000.00
Total bond: $11,000.00. Millwood has since been released on bond from the Jefferson County Jail.
