At approximately 4:08 p.m. on October 21, 2026, members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Neighborhood Enforcement Team (SNET), working in coordination with the Vice and Narcotics Unit, located Stephon Joseph riding as a passenger in a vehicle traveling along Woodward Road in Midfield.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop, at which point Joseph fled on foot. SNET and Vice and Narcotics Unit deputies pursued Joseph into a nearby residential neighborhood, where he was located and taken into custody following a brief struggle. No injuries were reported.
Joseph was transported to the Jefferson County Jail in Bessemer, where he will await extradition to the Department of Corrections.
