On Sunday, April 19, 2026, at approximately 10:52 a.m., deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2100 block of Emerald Point Drive in Hoover to investigate a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Personnel with Rocky Ridge Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the individual deceased.
Officers with the Hoover Police Department assisted deputies during the response and initial investigation.
Preliminary information indicates the incident is domestic-related. No arrests have been made at this time, and no charges have been filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
