BIRMINGHAM, AL – Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is working to ensure that children in Jefferson County have a special Christmas. Through a partnership with Enterprise Truck Rental, deputies will take children shopping to pick out gifts from their Christmas lists. Children will be selected by the Boys and Girls Club and then paired with a JCSO deputy.
“As a child, I remember the joy and excitement that I got when Christmas came around and it is my hope that we’ll be able to share some of that Christmas cheer with the children that we’ll be shopping with,” Sheriff Mark Pettway said. “I am also thankful to our community partners that work with us to put programs in place that allow everyone to truly have a Christmas to remember.”
Initiatives like this would not be possible without community partners like Enterprise. This is the fifth year for the program and each year the impact continues to grow.
