Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Releases Crime Stats for 2022

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to release the 2022 crime statistics for the unincorporated areas of Jefferson County.  These statistics include major crimes committed within the areas that the Sheriff’s Office is responsible for conducting investigations.

The stats show an overall 5% reduction in major crimes, highlighting a 38% reduction in homicides over 2021 numbers.  The reduction in homicides is a 5-year low, despite the Sheriff’s Office assuming investigations in additional municipalities.
