The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for two people who fled the scene of a fatal car accident that occurred on Monday, August 2, 2021.  A vehicle driven by 32 year-old Brittany Nishae Williams was crossing highway 79 in Pinson, when her vehicle was struck by an oncoming automobile.  The vehicle was carrying her and her three children.  Brittany was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office’s START team is still working on the investigation to determine who was driving the Dodge Challenger that struck the Williams’ Buick LaCrosse.  It was initially thought that Williams’ vehicle was occupied only by her and two of her children.  Further investigation shows that those who fled the scene, handed a 1 year-old child to a bystander before fleeing the scene.  Due to the fact that there were no adults on the scene who could make identification, it was thought that the child was an occupant in their vehicle.  Family members were later able to advise detectives that this was also one of Williams’ children.  It is unclear how the two got the child.

If you have any information on this crash or if you know the identity of the two subjects who fled the scene, please call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450.
