2026 – 2027 LEAP Program: Empowering Youth and Strengthening Community Connections

The Law Enforcement Athletic Partnership (LEAP) is bringing law enforcement and youth together on the field and in the gym to build trust, mentorship and community. “By using athletics as a common ground, LEAP creates positive relationships, promotes healthy lifestyles and shows young people that law enforcement is here to support them on and off the court. Together, we’re building safer neighborhoods and stronger connections.” — Sheriff Pettway

LEAP serves children ages 4 to 12 through organized sports and mentoring programs. Deputies and trained volunteers participate as coaches, mentors, and role models, offering guidance both on and off the field.

Participants develop confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of belonging while forming positive relationships with law enforcement professionals.
