A 43-year-old Mt. Olive man has been charged with two counts of sodomy 1st degree.
On May 3, 2017, an adult male victim contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report that he had suffered repeated sexual abuse at the hands of an adult when the victim was between the ages of six and fifteen years old.

Sheriff’s detectives conducted an investigation and, on May 16, 2017, presented the case to the District Attorney’s Office. Two arrest warrants were issued charging 43-year-old Victor Lee Smith of Mt. Olive with Sodomy 1st Degree. Bonds total $80,000.
Smith was arrested this morning and remains in the Jefferson County Jail.
