Narcotics and Weapons Seizure

On October 11, 2024, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Division, and members of the United States Marshal Service, executed an arrest warrant at 221 67th Place North, Birmingham, Alabama. During the arrest warrant execution, probable cause was discovered for a search warrant. During the search warrant, detectives located numerous items connected to illegal narcotic sales and drug trafficking.

Sheriff Mark Pettway stated, “The continued collaboration between our detectives and our federal law enforcement partners is greatly needed.  Getting drugs and weapons off the street is paramount.  They are working hard to keep the citizens of Jefferson County safe”.

Suspect #1 has been identified as: Curtis Deangelo Pelt, age, 33. The suspect has been charged with Drug Trafficking, with a $100,000.00 bond.  The suspect is out on bond from the Jefferson County Jail.

Suspect #2 has been identified as: Caroline Elizabet Medley, age, 46. The suspect has been charged with Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Failure to Appear and 2 Counts of Misdemeanor Failure to Appear, with no bond.  The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.

Suspect #3 has been identified as: Savannah Tyler Dagenais, age, 32.  The suspect has been charged with Drug Trafficking, with no bond.  The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.

Suspect #4 has been identified as: Giovanni Austin, age ,43.  The suspect has been charged with Misdemeanor Failure to Appear, with no bond.  The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.

The following items were seized during the search warrant:

Narcotics seized: Crack Cocaine (48 grams), Marijuana, Tramadol, and Methamphetamine

Weapons Seized:  8 Firearms
