Narcotics and Weapons Seizure

On Monday, July 28, 2025, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives executed a narcotics search warrant in the 6000 block of Warrior River Road. Detectives located approximately 26 marijuana plants growing on the property and a quantity of dried marijuana on the interior of the residence. The plants varied in size, with the largest reaching approximately 9 feet tall. A male suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Sheriff Mark Pettway stated, “Our citizens continue to help us fight crime in Jefferson County.  They play such an invaluable role in helping to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community.  We want them to know how truly amazing they are to us.”

The suspect has been identified as: Jimmy Eugene McDowell, age, 68.  McDowell has been charged with Drug Trafficking with a $500,000.00 bond.  The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.

Narcotics seized: Marijuana / 26 Plants

Weapons seized: Rossi .38 Revolver; S&W M&P Shield .380 caliber handgun; and a Remington .22 caliber Rifle

Additional Items Seized: Ammunition, Packaging Material, Marijuana Seeds
