Narcotics and Weapons Seizure

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Jefferson County Narcotics Detectives concluded a long-term narcotics investigation by executing a search warrant in the 4100 block of 11th Avenue, Wylam, Birmingham, Alabama. During the search, detectives located and seized narcotics, firearms, and other evidence related to the investigation.

Suspect Information:

  • Name: Aaron Smith

  • Age: 46

  • Charges:

    • Drug Trafficking – Bond: $250,000

    • Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree – Bond: $10,000

    • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Bond: $5,000

  • Total Bond: $265,000
    Smith is currently out on bond from the Jefferson County Jail.

Sheriff Mark Pettway stated, “This long-term investigation shows that when law enforcement and the community work together, we see great results.”

    • 212.7 grams of marijuana

    • 491 grams of methamphetamine

    • Rossi .38 caliber revolver

    • Sig Sauer M400 AR-15 pistol

    • Ruger P95 9mm pistol

    • Talon TAR-15 pistol

    • Stoeger STR-9C 9mm pistol

    • Ruger American .270 rifle

    • Mossberg Model 88 12-gauge pump shotgun

    • Smith & Wesson SD40VE .40 caliber pistol

  • Vehicle:

    • Black GMC Yukon XL

  • Currency:

    • $1,270 in U.S. currency
